Studio 3 Architecture is a vibrant architecture and design practice that specialises in Sustainable design, Urban planning, Project management, Fit out design and Conservation architecture, directed by Sandra Nowlan and Frank Doyle. Studio 3 Architecture draws on many years of experience, knowledge and commitment to our work. We are supported by an energetic and expert staff.
Studio 3 offers a wide range of architectural services including residential, retail, and commercial in Dublin and across Ireland. We have established lasting working relationships through collaboration with leading International Architects and Consultants in the United Kingdom and Europe. This network of other committed professionals allows Studio 3 to draw support, collaborate and exchange thinking on a variety of design and sustainability issues.

Sandra Nowlan
FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR
Dip Arch MSC Dip Proj Man MRIAI
Sandra graduated from DIT Bolton Street in 1994 with a first class honours degree in Architecture. She worked for a number of years on residential and commercial projects in Germany & Australia.
On returning to Ireland in 1998, Sandra worked for a number of years with Scott Tallon Walker Architects and later as a Director with OMS Architects Ltd before founding Studio 3 Architecture in 2011
Sandra is a registered member of the Royal Institute of the Architects in Ireland, She holds a Higher Diploma in Building Project Management and a Masters Degree in Spatial Planning. She is also a Grade 3 accredited Conservation Architect.

Frank Doyle
FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR

Frank qualified from Bolton Street College of Technology in 1981 with a Diploma in Architectural Technology. He received a Diploma in Project Management from Trinity College in 1993. Having set up and operated his own building contracting firm for 9 years, Frank joined OMS Architects Ltd. in 1989 where he became an Associate in 1992 and a Director in 2001. Frank went on to found Studio 3 Architecture in 2011
Frank has over 35 years experience in the delivery of successful building projects. He has acted as Project Architect for the delivery of IKEA Dublin, the Blackrock Hospice and the Pavilions Shopping Centre in Swords.
He is a Technician member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland RIAI (Tech), a Chartered Member of the British Institute of Architectural Technologies MCIAT and an Associated Member of the Chartered Institute of Building ACIOB.

Andrea Fitzpatrick
SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST
Dip. Arch. Tech, RIAI (Tech), BER Assessor
Andrea has over 20 years of experience in the industry. She has previously held the role of Associate Director at OMS. Andrea has experience in delivering large scale commercial and residential projects like the phase 2 development of the Pavilions shopping Centre and Phoenix Park Racecourse Development which consisted of 2,400 residential units and 3,500m2 of retail space.
Since joining the office in 2019 Andrea has worked on our commercial and fit out projects from design through to completion seeing they are delivered to the highest quality design.

Aoife Rafferty
SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST
BSc. (Hons) Arch Tech PG. Dip. FSP
Aoife graduated with an Honours Degree in Architectural Technology from DIT Bolton Street in 2011, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Fire Safety Practice from Trinity College Dublin in 2013.
She first joined Studio 3 in 2012, contributing as a key member of the team on a variety of large-scale residential, retail, and office fit-out projects. Before rejoining the practice in 2025, Aoife spent several years at DMVF Architects, where she was involved in the design and delivery of high-end one-off homes and significant house refurbishments, overseeing projects from early concept through to completion on site.Aoife brings a strong technical focus to her work. Her attention to detail and practical approach ensure that every project is thoughtfully designed and fully aligned with construction best practices and building regulations compliance.

Christine Cruz
GRADUATE ARCHITECT
M.Arch (Hons), BSc. (Hons)
Christine is a graduate architect with an honors Master's degree from Technological University Dublin, where she also completed her Bachelor of Science in architecture. Her master’s thesis explores her interest in weaving as an alternative method of architectural representation. As part of her studies, Christine attended Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands where she refined her skills in sustainable design and circular buildings.
During her 6 years of education, she took a year out in 2022 to gain experience and worked as an Architectural Assistant with Dorman Architects, where she returned to work in the summer of 2024. During her time with them, she was involved in various stages of residential, conservation and leisure projects.

Shane Mc Morrow
GRADUATE ARCHITECT
M.Arch (Hons), B. Arch. (Hons)
Shane is a graduate architect from Sligo with an honours Master’s degree from UCD and a Bachelors in architecture from ATU. His thesis involved investigating the reuse and potential of multi-storey carparks in Irish towns. During his studies he also participated in workshops in Eindhoven and Wenzhou, China.
During his year out, he worked with James Hamilton Architects and worked on residential projects in the UK, USA, France and Turks and Caicos Islands. He was also involved in a competition entry for the Dallas Museum of Art and commercial projects in Tennessee.
